Design of Adaptive Cruise Controller (Paperback): Subashri Vasudevan, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Balachandran Arumugam Design of Adaptive Cruise Controller (Paperback)
Subashri Vasudevan, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Balachandran Arumugam
R1,278 Discovery Miles 12 780 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

The main aim of the project is to design model based approach for Adaptive Cruise Control system which works efficiently under the STOP & GO scenarios. A significant number of accidents could be avoided through timely threat recognition and appropriate actions of collision avoidance. This may be achieved by suitable warning to the driver or by automatic support to longitudinal or lateral control of vehicle. The Adaptive Cruise Controller (ACC) is mainly a comforting system that helps in controlling the speed of the vehicle; at the same time it ensures the distance from the preceding vehicle is safer enough to avoid collision. But the driver remains responsible for steering. The speed can be decelerated/ accelerated in steps using the buttons available in the ACC. If deceleration of the ACC is not sufficient enough to avoid a collision, it warns the driver with a warning sound. All these are clearly drafted in the report and is presented with proper simulation results. Reader can go through the details and we are sure it would be a good reading.

Speed Control of Synchronous Motor using FPGA (Paperback): Sivaraman Ramachandran, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Subashri Vasudevan Speed Control of Synchronous Motor using FPGA (Paperback)
Sivaraman Ramachandran, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Subashri Vasudevan
R1,292 Discovery Miles 12 920 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

FPGA-based speed controller for a synchronous machine with an internal current control loop based on a predictive current controller is presented. Due to their complex computation schemes, predictive current controllers implemented in a full digital system are characterized by an inevitable delay in calculating and applying the switching states to the inverter. Consequently, their performances are affected and the achieved sampling frequency is limited. These digital control limitations are mainly due to the processing speed versus computational complexity trade-off. To cope with this problem, specific digital hardware technology such as FPGA can be used as an alternative digital solution to ensure fast processing operation and to preserve performances of predictive current controllers in spite of their complex computation schemes. Such performances can be preserved, thanks to the high flexibility and high computation capabilities of FPGAs. In order to illustrate this, an FPGA implementation of a synchronous machine speed controller based on a predictive current controller is presented and fully analyzed in this project

Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) (Paperback): Shriram K. Vasudevan, P. L. K. Priyadarsini, Subashri Vasudevan Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) (Paperback)
Shriram K. Vasudevan, P. L. K. Priyadarsini, Subashri Vasudevan
R1,278 Discovery Miles 12 780 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

Image processing has become one of the most and fast growing fields. It has occupied an inevitable place in the industry. We also have worked in image processing, but, in a specific area of image retrieval. The purpose of this report is to describe the solution to the problem of designing a Content Based Image Retrieval, CBIR system. It outlines the problem, the proposed solution, the final solution that will be accomplished. Due to the enormous increase in image database sizes, as well as its vast deployment in various applications, the need for CBIR development arose. Firstly, this report outlines a description of the primitive features of an image, texture and color. These features are extracted and used as the basis for a similarity check between images. The report describes the implementation details through which the objective is going to be satisfied, (i.e.) the algorithms used to calculate the similarity between extracted features. The structure of the final software application is also illustrated. In short it would be a nice reading experience.
